Transfer ownership of Docs, Sheets and Slides in Bulk
Here is a method to allow transfer of Google Drive documents from one owner to another in bulk. For instance, you have retired from a project and need to turn over all the documents to a new project manager.
One method to round up all the documents is to enter “owner:me” as shown below, or go directly to the desired Drive Folder::
Then Select all (1) <ctl>+A, or select individually select each document, followed by selecting the “Share” icon (2)
In the Share settings enter the Google account for the person you want to give ownership to. Now that the desired documents are shared to the owner with Edit permissions, you now need to complete the last step, that is to change ownership to the new person. Then next to the intended new owner, select the “Is owner” from the Permissions drop-down. Complete the process with the “Save Changes” button below:
As you will see after the action is complete..The new ownership is set to “lecorrales”
Note, you will still have “edit” permissions to the files you have changed ownership to. Should you remove these files from your Folder, you can always find them again by selecting “Shared with me” in the Drive folder, or search by the file name:
